Seattle’s A 4 Apple Early Learning Center Brings Education to the Community

Welcome to A 4 Apple Learning Center. Our Trae Holiday stopped by to chat with Co-Owner and Teacher Appollonia Washington (Miss Apple) for #NationalBlackBusinessMonth to hear about the work being done at the center as she seeks to inspire the next generation through early learning and literacy.

“My mom actually birthed A 4 Apple, so I’m her business partner,” Washington said. “She laid the foundation.”

Washington expanded on her mother’s vision, opening the school building and scaling the operation while developing curriculums and educating more children.

“It is very important to provide an education that creates equal access to all the theories, all the growth,” Washington said. “Not only are my children leaving academically ready, but their social and emotional is getting developed as well.”

Washington herself got her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education in June, an accomplishment she worked towards for a while and is very proud of.

Who wouldn’t want to stay educated and on top of knowing how to better support the children in the community,” Washington said.

Her plans for A 4 Apple include expansion and the creation of more opportunities to give back to the community.

“I definitely see an A 4 Apple part 2 somewhere in the Central District,” Washington said. “I want everyone to have access to quality education and resources.”

You can learn more about A 4 Apple in the video and on their website.
