Following yesterday’s satisfying series opener victory, the Seattle Mariners dropped a frustrating, bizarre game two against the Washington Nationals to even the series up. In dominating fashion, Seattle Kraken rookie center Matty Beniers was named the 2023 Calder Memorial Trophy winner, selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League. Beniers tallied 57 points in his rookie year, playing 80 games as the Kraken had an incredible second year.

The Tacoma Defiance continued a successful month of June with a narrow victory over Austin FC II at Starfire Stadium. Forward Braudillo Rodrigues buried a penalty kick in the first half, giving Tacoma a lead that they’d never surrender.

The Seattle Sounders continue to struggle offensively at a frustrating pace, as they split points with Orlando City SC in a scoreless draw at Lumen Field. Seattle hosted Pride Night, but the Sounders aren't surely proud with their performances as of late considering the struggles on the attack. While differing factors took out several key players, Seattle still had numerous opportunities to find the back of the net and could not.
