Not long ago, Back2Besa and HITS 106.1 Seattle Host Besa Gordon hopped on the Amtrak to Portland, Oregon with her production team and Tanzanian Radio Host on MjiniFM Abby Plaatjes to tell some of the stories of Portland’s Black community.

On Sunday, Trap Kitchen PDX hosted their annual “Feed Our Community” holiday event. Hosted by Trap Kitchen along with local artist and radio host Cool Nutz, the event provided meals for 150+ people, as well as turkeys and holiday essentials for 50+ families in need of supplies and holiday comfort.

Trap Kitchen Weekend 2022 Made Me Fall In Love With Music Again
Do you know what's crazy? It took for me to go to Trap Kitchen Weeknd in Portland, Oregon, to fall back in love with looking into new Hip-Hop artists, interviewing artists, and highlighting artists that I think are dope. Before becoming a radio host, I used to do that all the time. Back then, I had a different passion for getting the word out about new artists people should know about or even looking for artists I still needed to learn. Believe it or not, some of my favorite artists to this day are ones no one knew about until they blew up.

Dude. This is not a drill Trap Kitchen Weekend is this Friday and I can’t wait! Like seriously, me and Big O literally jumped in a car Saturday and drove alllllll the way (I mean I guess it’s not that far) to PDX for me to get some more of that amazing Trap Kitchen food and to see the space that will hold this year's Trap Kitchen Weekend.
Food-wise, you already know I grabbed the baller box which comes with, snow crab legs, a lobster tail, shrimp, salmon, and fries. Big O got the garlic noodles with snow crab legs and a lobster tail. As for our drinks, we got the berry lemonade and even took one to go!
Portland’s Hip Hop Week returns to the Rose City August 20 - August 27
Portland Hip Hop Week is an annual celebration of art and culture in Northern Oregon. The festivities bring together artists of all types, from DJ’s to rappers to break dancers and everything in between. Founded in 2015 by legendary Portland DJ O.G.ONE who is a DJ for the Portland Trailblazers as well as Vice President of the PNW Recording Academy and the late northwest music industry icon StarChile, the events focus on community engagement and are community-organized.
