The 4th annual Hip Hop, Wine and Chill event, a cornerstone of PDX Hip Hop Week, was a resounding success, uniting a diverse blend of artists, entrepreneurs, and hip hop aficionados. Hosted by Leadertainment LLC, and held at Abbey Creek Winery, Oregon's pioneering Black-owned vineyard and winery in over half a century, the event underscored the harmonious fusion of music, wine, and community spirit.

Portland music industry icon, Cool Nutz, recently took it back to his roots and celebrated his birthday bash at Alberta Street Pub in NE Portland just blocks from his original studio where he started making music years ago. A Queen has officially received her rightful crown. Over the weekend, our cameras hit the road and took the 90 minute drive east across the Cascade Mountains to the town of Cle Elum, Washington, for the coronation of 17-teen-year-old Jessa Thomas, Miss Teen Rodeo Washington State. Jessa isn't just any Queen, she is the first-ever Black Queen for Miss Teen Rodeo in Washington State, and the honor was well deserved. More about Jessa below:

This month, we’re celebrating Black History by revisiting moments within our company. Over the past three years, Converge Media has been honored to participate in projects around the country, including visiting historical sights in the American South.

Growth, development, leadership, and all the signs of future success are definitely things I found in my short time with the Rip City Remix a few weeks ago. The Remix is a new NBA G League team in Rip City (aka Portland, aka The Rose City) where players who are not quite ready for the bright lights of the NBA can literally develop their talents through a close partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Reflecting on what happened at Holiday Jam, I'm reminded as to why I love being in radio. Jumping on stage and making thousands of people scream is such a wild and energizing feeling. The first time I did it, I instantly knew what artists meant when they said there's nothing like performing on stage and feeling the energy of the crowd. It's a vibe I wish I could bottle up for when I'm having a bad day and need a pick-me-up.

Not long ago, Back2Besa and HITS 106.1 Seattle Host Besa Gordon hopped on the Amtrak to Portland, Oregon with her production team and Tanzanian Radio Host on MjiniFM Abby Plaatjes to tell some of the stories of Portland’s Black community.

Luis Castillo, Seattle’s top pitcher and leader of the rotation, has high goals set for the 2023 season. Like his nickname of La Piedra, expect Castillo to be rock solid all season long for the Mariners as they look to have the best rotation in all of baseball.

In their final game of Spring Training, our Seattle Mariners fell to the San Diego Padres as starter Marco Gonzales allowed three earned runs over four innings. Seattle got some offense in the third inning, but that’s all they could muster.

In the second to last game of Spring Training, the Seattle Mariners (labeled as the visiting team) came to a tie with the San Diego Padres at the Peoria Sports Complex. Both teams matched offense for offense in the game, as Logan Gilbert threw in his final outing of Spring Training 2023.

The Mariners played two games today as they had a split squad Saturday, unfortunately falling in both games that they played. On the road, the team fell to the San Francisco Giants and at home they fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks

In their game on the road against the Cincinnati Reds, our Seattle Mariners saw 17 runs cross home plate in a huge victory. Every single starting Mariners batter recorded a hit, while five of them had multi-hit games.
