Dr. Sabine Thomas and JSOL Studios Are Nurturing Roots and Strengthening Bonds
Dr. Sabine Thomas of JSOL Studios spoke with Trae Holiday, Thomas, the executive director of JSOL Studios, shared her passion for supporting the parent-child relationship and the importance of intergenerational wellness. As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Thomas has a deep understanding of the critical role that the parent-child bond plays in a child's development, particularly in the prenatal to age 5 stage. She emphasizes the significance of secure attachment, which can be fostered not just by parents, but by grandparents, family members, and close friends.
By centering the grandparent-grandchild relationship, JSOL Studios aims to help children connect with their cultural roots through sensory experiences like food, music, and nature. Dr. Thomas believes that these connections are "the first medicine" in supporting a child's wellbeing.
To nurture the grandparents themselves, JSOL Studios offers a range of services, including one-on-one coaching, educational workshops, and partnerships with experts like public health nurses and school psychologists. The goal is to ensure that grandparents feel supported and empowered to continue pouring into the lives of their grandchildren.
Upcoming events hosted by JSOL Studios include December 19th, 4-5pm; Continuation of the grandparent support conversation.
