This year’s Purple and White Day was in doubt of happening at all following the tragic and senseless murder of student Amarr A’Shawn Murphy-Payne two weeks ago just feet from the entrance to the gym on the Garfield campus as he intervened to stop a fight between two students.

"Empowering Youth: The Journey of Olu Dixon and Olu Productions"

Recently, Olu Dixon visited "The Day With Trae" to delve into his artistic and educational journey with host Trae Holiday, sharing the mission of Olu Productions and the impactful initiative, It's Never 2 Early 2 Create & Innovate (N2E).

Dixon didn't attend public school until high school. Instead, he was part of a Black-run homeschooling program called Black Starline, managed by his mother and a group of her friends. This experience marked the beginning of his involvement with the community.

Just a month after her return from Korea, singer-songwriter Paris Alexa Williams aka Parisalexa is making waves with her chart-topping hit “Supernova” and gearing up for her performance at the upcoming Bumbershoot Festival in August.

She co-composed "Supernova," a track recorded by the South Korean girl group Aespa for their debut studio album Armageddon, alongside Kenzie and Dem Jointz, who also handled the arrangement.
