Terrain, the region's largest multimedia art and music event, recently celebrated its 15th year, showcasing a vibrant array of artistic expression. Ginger Ewing, Terrain co-founder, shared her insights on Terrain's impact and its significance for the local community.

The Fifth Installment of Season Three of Scope Screenings was another fantastic showcase of PNW talent and creative works with quite a few that caught my eye from the city of Spokane. The SIFF Egyptian Theater on Capitol Hill was packed, and I was thrilled to see so many familiar faces.

Seattle audiences are abuzz with excitement for the upcoming Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) performances of The Prodigal Son, as Jonathan Batista, a celebrated ballet luminary, makes his much-anticipated debut in the iconic lead role. Sharing the stage with him is Amanda Morgan, a Soloist with PNB, marking a historic moment for the company. This debut represents a milestone in the ballet world, as Batista and Morgan are the first two Black dancers to perform the principal roles in a major PNB production, signaling a new chapter for diversity in classical ballet.

In a recent episode of The Day with Trae, host Trae Holiday welcomed Kibibi Monie, an accomplished performer and educator. Monie discussed her drama classes at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, aimed at empowering young people. Titled Let’s Tell Stories, the program offers weekly sessions through November 20th, following a “Pay What You Can” model to ensure accessibility for all.

Opening his club to the Seattle nightlife in October of last year with the slogan “OHM is home,” Jordan Quiller has brought his Houston, Texas, roots and mixed them with his Seattle style. The two mixtures have rewarded him with one of the best nightclubs here. Quiller has hosted big artists such as Veeze, Anycia, 03 Greedo, Real Boston Richie, Bino Rideaux, Jay Critch, and Bryson Tiller throughout his first year of opening.

In case you missed it, Besa Gordon stopped by Good Day Seattle to discuss her recent trip to Spokane with Erin Mayovsky. While there, she focused on her visit to the This Is East Central Mural and shared highlights from her trip, such as Latrice Williams' home buyers court graduation, Terrain 15, and her interview with Channing Curtis of KREM2.

On The Day with Trae, host Trae Holiday welcomed menopause mentor Danyale Thomas to discuss the complexities of menopause, sharing insights from their ongoing series about the symptoms and effects that women face. Trae acknowledged experiencing symptoms herself and emphasized how Danyale's discussions had helped her understand and attribute them to menopause rather than personal health failures.

At the Scope Screenings Film Festival, creativity took center stage once again at the SIFF Egyptian Theater in Seattle. Held on the last Tuesday of every month from June through December, Scope Screenings is a hub for filmmakers, producers, and creatives to showcase their work on the big screen. During the recent "Wacky Tacky Night," attendees witnessed an array of films and videos that pushed boundaries and sparked conversations.

Coming off a satisfying road victory against the Atlanta Falcons which snapped a losing skid, the Seattle Seahawks returned home to Lumen Field and dropped a clunker of a result with an ugly loss to the Buffalo Bills that saw Seattle dismantled in the second half.

At the SIFF Egyptian Theater on Capitol Hill, a story of legacy, family, and community is about to unfold on the silver screen. Real estate developer Jaebadiah Gardner, known for his work revitalizing Seattle’s Black communities, is stepping into a new role as a filmmaker with his debut short film, "Sarah."

To finish out a five-game homestand, our Seattle Kraken played a tight game against the Carolina Hurricanes until late, when the Canes pulled away with two late goals. It was an ugly loss for Seattle, who failed to do much of anything offensively and looked loss at times defensively.

FOX13 Seattle is continuing its strong support of Back2Besa, hosted by Besa Gordon, with the launch of a new ad campaign promoting the FOX Local App. This marks the third major ad campaign in less than a month, following a bus campaign featuring Back2Besa and The Jennifer Hudson Show, and a TV commercial announcing the show's second season.

Ahead of #ConvergeSuperSaturday and the special airing of Converge Media’s Emmy-nominated film Reconciliation Tour on Saturday, October 26th at 9:30 pm on FOX 13 Seattle, Baseball Beyond Borders Founder Bookie Gates and Mariners Director of Community Relations Nova Newcomer joined Washington Sports Wrap host Alyssa Charlston to discuss the film and it’s impact. They spoke about the importance of baseball and the ways they’ve worked both individually and together the open doors and provide opportunities for youth of all backgrounds to participate.

Meet Channing Curtis, a seasoned news anchor at KREM 2 in Spokane, who recently shared her insights and experiences while taping an interview for Back2Besa at Spokane's Kendall Yards. In a conversation with Besa Gordon, Channing opened up about her journey in the news industry, her passion for storytelling, the importance of representation, and the realities of maintaining mental health in a demanding profession.
