This week, Converge Media family member and National PBS host Jay Martin Jr. makes his FOX 13 Seattle debut on Back2Besa during Besa’s weekly affirmation segment. Martin has been spreading love and joy in the community through his weekly Feel Good Friday segments, which you can find on our Instagram, and now he’s set to bring that inspiration to Besa’s show.

Besa Gordon brought out the star power for her latest edition of #NeverHaveIEver, and took a swing at something new by picking up a golf club for the first time. She joined former Husky and Seahawks Receiver Jermaine Kearse at his indoor golf business Evergreen Golf Club to learn the game and test out her swing.

The Bite Of Seattle returned this year following a hiatus to the pandemic. Widely regarded as one of the top food festivals in the United States, the Bite featured over 100 vendors and 50 musical artists. We sent our Besa Gordon and her TV in search of Black businesses at the Bite and they found a handful including Jumping Jambalaya, Kenyan Kitchen, Boss of Sea Moss, Glory Bucha, Ma and Pops, and more.

The Therapy Fund Foundation hosted their first annual reclaiming wellness event built to help the Black community build healthy self-care habits and discuss mental health challenges. Converge Media was a proud sponsor of the event at Green River College, which featured keynote speaker Dr. Uché Blackstock, the founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity.

On Friday the Woodland Park Zoo celebrated its 47th Annual Jungle Party and our Besa Gordon invited a few of her media friends including Tyrah Majors from KOMO 4, Shante Sumpter from KING 5 as well as Jay Martin Jr from PBS to join in on the fun.

As Major League Baseball leaves Seattle following All-Star Week, a lasting gift remains in South Seattle to continue the week’s legacy forever. As part of Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week Celebrations, they broke ground on the renovation of the baseball fields at Rainier Playfield. This project is part of MLB’s #LegacyFields Legacy Initiative, which seeks to create lasting impact within All-Star host cities.
